Trading is its own business activity, separate from manufacturing. BARREL buys, stocks and supplies against project BOQs, builds distribution channels for partner OEMs, and — under the authorisations each product requires — trades fuels and coal domestically.
Equipment trade runs on BARREL Shop, the procurement marketplace for the power sector, with RFQs, quotations, orders and documents in one place.

Marketing and distribution of petrol, diesel and gas, and storage of petroleum products, require authorisations (in India, among others, marketing authorisation, PESO licences and PNGRB authorisation where applicable).
