BARREL Authorized Service Provider · Official service partner network

Empowering Expertise. Delivering Excellence. Building Infrastructure.

Become part of a trusted network of qualified service providers across the global energy and infrastructure sectors.

The BARREL Authorized Service Provider Programme identifies, verifies, recognizes and connects capable contractors, engineering companies, technical agencies, professional organizations and specialized service providers.

From engineering and design to construction, installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance, BARREL brings service capabilities together through one integrated business ecosystem — a structured platform for EPC contractors, civil and electrical contractors, transmission line specialists, testing agencies, O&M companies and specialized technical service providers.

Your expertise. Your capabilities. Your execution strength. Connected to the BARREL ecosystem.

Not a merchant providing services on shop.barrel.energy. A merchant selling products can also become an Authorized Service Provider. A Service Provider Merchant cannot. See the difference

01 · What is a BARREL Authorized Service Provider?

Authorized for a defined scope. Recorded with dates.

A BARREL Authorized Service Provider is a business entity or professional organization that has completed the applicable registration, verification, capability assessment and authorization process to provide specified services within the BARREL network.

Unlike an ordinary contractor directory, BARREL maintains dated capability records: what a service provider is qualified to undertake, what capabilities have been documented and when the information was last checked.

Explore the existing BARREL Contractor Registry

The registry records, for every provider:

  1. 01Approved work categories
  2. 02Technical and engineering capabilities
  3. 03Voltage classes and infrastructure experience
  4. 04Execution capacity and project size
  5. 05Available manpower and technical personnel

  7. 07Past project experience and references
  8. 08Geographical service coverage
  9. 09Verification records and assessment dates

02 · Service Provider vs. Supplier Partner vs. Marketplace Merchant

Independent programmes, each with its own approval.

An Authorized Service Provider is not a merchant offering services on shop.barrel.energy. It is a verified, capability-assessed organization in the BARREL Service Provider Registry.

Can also be an Authorized Service Provider?—YesYesNo

The one combination that is not allowed. A BARREL Service Provider Merchant — a merchant that offers services for sale on shop.barrel.energy — cannot be a BARREL Authorized Service Provider. The two are different ways of offering services, and a business chooses one. A Service Provider Merchant that wants authorization must first end its Service Provider Merchant status.

Allowed: a merchant selling products on shop.barrel.energy may also be an Authorized Service Provider, and an Authorized Supplier Partner may be both.

EXAMPLE

A company that manufactures and supplies transformers, installs substations and maintains electrical infrastructure can hold three statuses at once:

1 · BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner2 · BARREL Authorized Service Provider3 · BARREL Marketplace Merchant (products)

Each status has its own registration, verification, approval and operating conditions. Its services are offered through the Authorized Service Provider programme — not as a Service Provider Merchant on the Shop.

03 · Who can become a BARREL Authorized Service Provider?

Service providers across the complete value chain.

BARREL welcomes service providers across the complete energy, power, industrial and infrastructure value chain.

05 · Technical capability & qualification registry · Core platform feature

What each provider can actually execute.

More than a collection of company names and contact numbers: a structured, capability-based registry.

A

Work Category Registration

Service providers register multiple work categories and sub-categories. For example:

Main categorySub-category
ElectricalHT/LT installation
Substation33/132/220 kV
TransmissionTower erection and stringing
SolarUtility-scale solar EPC
CivilFoundations and roads
TestingTransformer and relay testing
O&MSolar and substation O&M

B

Voltage Class Capability

For electrical, transmission and substation providers, BARREL keeps voltage-wise capability records.

  • 11 kV
  • 22 kV
  • 33 kV
  • 66 kV
  • 100 kV
  • 110 kV
  • 132 kV
  • 220 kV
  • 400 kV
  • 500 kV
  • 765 kV

Capability at one voltage level does not automatically imply qualification at another.

C

Execution Capacity

The provider's demonstrated and declared execution capacity.

  • MW capacity for solar EPC
  • MW/MWh capacity for energy storage
  • Kilometre capacity for transmission line work
  • MVA capacity for transformer-related work

G

Verification History

Every important capability record carries:

  • Information submitted by the applicant
  • Documents reviewed
  • Verification status
  • Verification date
  • Verification method
  • Validity or review date
  • Outstanding observations
  • Last updated date

The BARREL principle

Every capability should have a record. Every verification should have a date. Every authorization should have a defined scope.

06 · Voltage-wise & project-wise service qualification

Qualification set by each project.

BARREL sets project-specific qualification requirements according to the nature and complexity of each project.

Separate records are kept for declared capabilities, verified experience and project-specific prequalification.

Authorization does not replace statutory electrical contractor licences, professional registrations, safety clearances or project-specific eligibility requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Service provider, merchant, or supplier?

Q1What is the difference between a contractor and a BARREL Authorized Service Provider?

A contractor is a business that undertakes contractual work. A BARREL Authorized Service Provider is a contractor or service organization that has completed the applicable BARREL verification and authorization process within a defined scope.

Q2Is an Authorized Service Provider the same as a merchant offering services on shop.barrel.energy?

No. A BARREL Service Provider Merchant sells services through the online marketplace. A BARREL Authorized Service Provider is a verified, capability-assessed organization in the BARREL Service Provider Registry. A Service Provider Merchant cannot also be an Authorized Service Provider; it must first end its Service Provider Merchant status.

Q3Can a merchant selling products on shop.barrel.energy apply?

Yes. A product merchant can also become a BARREL Authorized Service Provider. Each status has its own registration, verification, approval and operating conditions.

Q4Can a small contractor apply?

Yes. Small, medium and large organizations may apply. Authorization and project eligibility depend on the relevant category, capabilities and requirements.

Q5Can an individual professional apply?

BARREL may offer a separate professional or individual specialist registration category. Organizational service provider authorization remains distinct from individual professional registration.

Q6Can a company register for multiple services?

Yes. Companies can register multiple technical disciplines and work categories, subject to supporting credentials.

Q7Is a particular voltage-class experience mandatory?

It depends on the selected work category. Voltage-specific experience and applicable licences may be required for relevant electrical and EHV activities.

Q8Does registration guarantee work orders?

No. Registration and authorization do not guarantee project allocation, contracts, purchase orders or revenue.

Q9Can an Authorized Service Provider also become an Authorized Supplier Partner?

Yes. The same legal entity can participate in both programmes, subject to separate applicable approvals.

Q10Can international contractors register?

Yes. International organizations may apply, subject to jurisdiction-specific legal, statutory, technical and verification requirements.

Q11How does BARREL verify project experience?

Through supporting work orders, completion certificates, client references, project documentation and additional verification where appropriate.

Q12Can authorization be suspended?

Yes. BARREL may review authorization based on validity of credentials, compliance, performance information and applicable partner policies.
