BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner · Official partner network

Building a Trusted Global Energy Supply Network.

Connect your business to opportunities across the complete energy and infrastructure value chain.

The BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner Programme brings together manufacturers, OEMs, technology developers, equipment suppliers, distributors, importers, exporters, engineering companies and specialist service providers under one integrated business ecosystem.

Through BARREL, authorized partners can access business opportunities, participate in projects, expand market reach, collaborate with industry participants and become part of a growing global energy and infrastructure network.

More than a supplier directory. More than an online marketplace. A structured business partnership ecosystem.

Not a merchant account. A BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner is a verified business partner of the BARREL ecosystem. A merchant on shop.barrel.energy can also become one — the two roles have different purposes, responsibilities and privileges.

01 · What is a BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner?

A verified and recognized business partner.

A BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner (BASP) is a verified and recognized business entity — manufacturer, supplier, distributor, OEM, service provider or technology provider — authorized to participate in the BARREL Energy Ecosystem. It is an organization that has undergone the applicable registration, business verification, capability assessment and authorization process established by BARREL.

The programme is designed to identify and associate capable, credible and professionally managed businesses that can contribute products, equipment, technologies, materials, engineering solutions and services to the energy and infrastructure sectors. Partners may participate in one or multiple business categories, geographical markets and project opportunities, subject to their approved capabilities and authorization scope.

Our objective

A reliable supply network that supports the complete lifecycle of energy and infrastructure projects:

  1. 01Concept
  2. 02Design & development
  3. 03Manufacturing
  4. 04Procurement
  5. 05Construction
  6. 06Commissioning
  7. 07Operation & maintenance

02 · Authorized Supplier Partner vs. Marketplace Merchant

Two different roles. A business may hold either — or both.

BARREL maintains a distinction between an authorized business partner and a marketplace merchant.

Authorized Supplier Partner compared with Marketplace Merchant
ParticularsAuthorized Supplier PartnerMarketplace Merchant
Primary purposeBusiness partnershipOnline product selling
Business verificationApplicable partner verificationMerchant onboarding
Supplier recognitionYes, within approved scopeNot automatic
Project participationEligible, subject to qualificationNot automatic
B2B opportunitiesSubject to authorizationSubject to marketplace access
Technical capability assessmentApplicableNot necessarily
Business collaborationsYesNot automatic
shop.barrel.energy accountOptionalRequired for selling
Can hold both statuses?YesYes

Important: being a marketplace merchant does not automatically make a business a BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner. Similarly, an Authorized Supplier Partner does not need to operate a merchant account on shop.barrel.energy.

A manufacturer, for example, may be an Authorized Supplier Partner without selling directly through the marketplace. Another manufacturer may operate both as an Authorized Supplier Partner and as a merchant on shop.barrel.energy.

10 · Partner vs. merchant: one business, two opportunities

Two independent programmes. One integrated business ecosystem.

A business can participate in both BARREL programmes.

EXAMPLE 1

Manufacturer

Authorized Supplier PartnerMerchant

A transformer manufacturer becomes a BARREL Authorized Supplier Partner and participates in relevant project procurement enquiries. It does not need to list products on shop.barrel.energy.

EXAMPLE 2

Marketplace Merchant

Authorized Supplier PartnerMerchant

An electrical equipment trader registers as a merchant on shop.barrel.energy and sells products through the marketplace. This does not automatically provide Authorized Supplier Partner status.

EXAMPLE 3

Manufacturer + Merchant + Authorized Supplier Partner

Authorized Supplier PartnerMerchant

A solar equipment manufacturer completes BARREL supplier authorization and also opens a merchant account on shop.barrel.energy. The business can then:

  • Participate in eligible B2B procurement opportunities.
