Nuclear Energy — Engineering & Infrastructure Delivery

Engineering the infrastructure that supports the next generation of reliable, low-carbon power.

BARREL's nuclear-sector offering is focused on appropriately authorised engineering coordination, conventional infrastructure, electrical systems, grid connectivity, utilities, civil works and non-safety-critical packages, subject to applicable nuclear legislation, licensing and project approvals.

Nuclear facilities demand exceptional standards of safety, quality, configuration management, traceability, engineering assurance and regulatory compliance.

Scope boundary

Nuclear island engineering, reactor design, nuclear fuel handling, safety-critical systems, radiation protection and other regulated nuclear activities are undertaken only by appropriately licensed and qualified entities. BARREL does not present itself as a reactor designer, nuclear operator or nuclear construction licensee; its packages sit within the boundaries the competent regulator and the licensee define.

One delivery framework

Specialist scope. Common discipline.

Every technology page keeps its own engineering identity; every project runs on the same controls, quality, HSE and handover framework.

Project enquiry

Discuss nuclear infrastructure requirements.

Share the technology, location, capacity and stage of your project. BARREL's engineering team replies with the scope it can take on, the specialist partners it would bring in and the next step towards a technical proposal.

Performance guarantees, output guarantees and turnkey responsibilities are contract-specific and are set out in each proposal.
